Stanley Clementina Honors Our Caribbean Heroes!

Stanley Clementina Honors Our Caribbean Heroes!

Curaçao’s eclectic musical mastermind Stanley Clementina is currently on the island and boy did he bring his people a special treat. During his two week stay on his native soil he will be promoting his tongue-in-cheek new Afrobeat single “Komehein” about a girl who…well…let’s just say needs more wood for the fire. The concept for the song was inspired by the classic “M’a Bise”  by Doble R SSS, of which Stanley Clementina is a big fan along with “our other Caribbean heroes which we must honor”.

Expanding upon the inspiration for this single he states:

“You know in those days musical acts like Doble R, Gio, they displayed great skill when it came to wordplay and double entendres. Nowadays the music we hear on the island is generally too literal and much too blunt. So this is my foray into bringing back the essence of the sophistication of those classic pearls of musical wisdom, that’s why the original Doble R SSS song also plays in the outro. Of course I wrote “Komehein” and put my own twist to it, but it is ultimately a nod to our legends.”

Well, what else can I add to that, right? Go ahead and check out the music video for “Komehein” below and enjoy this Afrobeat treat to the ears!
