A talent on the rise in the Dutch rap scene, AN was born Angelo Muzo (1994) in Suriname. At the age of six months he was adopted and moved with his adoptive parents to another Caribbean nation, the island of Curaçao.

There they stayed until he reached the age of nine, when they moved to the city of Almere in the Netherlands. And it wasn’t all tulips and windmills, they moved into a ghetto.

Yes, the Netherlands has those too and they are no joke and AN was certainly not shielded from its harsh realities. But the unpleasant things he saw also served as lighter fluid to ignite his creativity. From very early on his lyrical prowess shone through as he became a regular at any freestyle event, whether they were in his neighborhood or in the Kraaiennest district in the notorious Amsterdam-Zuidoost (Southeast Amsterdam).

There he crossed paths with the likes of the members of SBMG, and the artists MocroManiac and RQS, all big names in the Dutch urban scene now but unknowns back then. The combination of the subsequent success of SBMG, after the release of their smash ‘Oeh Na Na’, and the dramatic shift in his living situation (his adoptive father passed away and his adoptive mother moved back to Curaçao, leaving him to fend for himself), really lit a fire in him get everything on track in his life and get a career going.

He started educating himself on the inner dynamics of the music industry and soon set up his own music label called ‘Evidence Music Group’. He soon acquired some artists on the label, among them Vich Holy & Marry and aside from projects with them he also indulged in some solo efforts. His observations of his environment, his wide-ranging experiences, his indefatigable resolve, they all come to life organically on his tracks. Combine all of that with catchy hooks and supremely creative flows and the recipe for success is ready to order.

And he brought this to fruition in 2015 with the release of the single “De City” and its accompanying video clip, his first solo release. In that year he also released a collaborative track with SBMG member Henkie T. titled “Van De Grond”. And AN is not showing any signs of slowing down this year, with the release of the “Evidence mixtape” and many other endeavors on the agenda. This rapper wants his story to become a motivation for anyone having a tough going of it and he is making big moves to ensure his success, there is no doubt about that.
