Broederliefde

Broederliefde is a Dutch rap group from the Spangen district in Rotterdam. The group consists of five members, they are:  Emms(Emerson Akachar), Jerr (Jerzy Rocha Livramento), Sjaf (Javiensley Dams), Edson (Edson Cesar) en Mella (Melvin Silberie). They have Curaçaoan, Dominican and Cape Verdean roots.

In 2014 they released their debut album “Gevoelig Feestje (Sentimental Little Party)” which entered the top 3 of the Dutch Album Top 100 and got them a nomination at the Edison Awards, one of the most prestigious music awards in The Netherlands, and a few wins at the FunX Awards, the awards ceremony of the most popular Urban radio station in the Netherlands.

At the end of 2015 came the release of their second studio album “Hard Work Pays Off”. That album contained the single “Alanka”, which became a smashing success, gaining platinum status in sales and a spot in the Dutch Top 40 and the Single Top 100.

At the end of April 2016 came the release of what would become their biggest success to date: their third studio album titled “Hard Work Pays Off 2”. On its first day of release all the songs on the album got over 700.000 plays online. The song “Mi No Lob” in particular stood out as a colossal smash, played everywhere in The Netherlands and the Dutch Caribbean.

This all catapulted “Hard Work Pays Off 2” to the top of the Dutch Album Top 100, where it remained for 14 consecutive weeks, setting a new record. This made it the first Dutch language album to have remained at no.1 on the charts for over 13 weeks. This led to many performances at festivals, award shows and tv shows.

And this Friday December 29th they will be headlining the show INSOMNIA invites Broederliefde & Friends at Kleine Werf, Curaçao. Get your info on the big party here and go get your tickets!
